The time-loss insurance compensates a pre-agreed daily amount if your ship is unable to sail because of damage covered by the hull and machinery insurance. This (partially) compensates your loss of income after a collision or major engine damage. As a mandatory excess of 14 days applies, a right to payment exists only in the event of more serious damage. You can choose between a maximum benefit duration of 30 or 45 days.

Example: After a major collision - for which you yourself are responsible - it takes 3 weeks for the ship to be repaired and able to sail again. Compensation is given for the number of days above the excess.
